Biography

Charles Baden-Fuller holds degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Oxford, Cornell, and London School of Economics. He has worked at Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, the London Business School, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and the University of Bath.


Currently Charles is Centenary Professor of Strategy at Cass Business School, City University London (http://www.cass.city.ac.uk/experts/c.baden-fuller). In addition to his post at Cass he is a visiting scholar at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and Editor-in-Chief of Long Range Planning (http://www.lrp.ac), one of the leading international journals in the field of strategic management. He is known for his strategy expertise in research and consultancy.

He has an established reputation on the rejuvenation of mature firms through his work with CEO's, his academic articles and his (co-authored) Harvard Business Press 'Rejuvenating the Mature Business', which was supported by research grants from EPSRC and Gatsby Foundation.


He is currently focusing on how high technology start-ups (particularly in Biotechnology and Hedge Funds) can achieve rapid growth. He sits on the boards of companies, directs a large research team supported by more than £1.8 million of funding from EPSRC, EU-Marie Curie and industry, and has published many articles and working papers.


As leader of the Strategy Group at the Cass Business School he works together with Joseph Lampel, Gianvito Lanzolla, Sam Kamuriwo, Hans Frankhort and Santi Funari. He welcomes visiting research fellows to join the team.
